Summary 

The United States National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related Conditions (NESARC) 2001-2002, is the first wave of the NESARC study. For the 2001-2002 NESARC survey, data on 43,093 individuals was collected through computer-assisted personal interviews (CAPI) on personal and family history of alcohol, drug, and tobacco use. Additional topics covered in the survey include treatment for substance related disorders and health conditions such as depression and anxiety.
