Summary 

The Kenya Demographic and Health Survey 2003 is part of phase 4 of the DHS series, a comprehensive, nationally representative household survey. Covers population, education, health, nutrition, family planning and household characteristics. GPS coordinates were collected during the survey.

This round of the DHS included all regions of Kenya, including the North-Eastern province, the northern districts of Samburu and Turkana in Rift Valley Province, and Isiolo and Marsabit in Eastern Province which were excluded from previous rounds of this survey.
